Presentation to Torbay Hospital

We had the greatest pleasure of presenting the Mary Delve unit in Torbay Hospital with items on their “wish list” that will enhance their bereavement suite on this busy maternity unit, helping support families who suffer from a stillbirth or premature death of a baby.

We connected with the midwives at Torbay Hospital led by Anna Stewart, Midwife, Delivery Suite Co-ordinator and bereavement lead and Jenny Hill, Midwife, they saw the need for alternative items that would enhance the suite and make it comfortable and gave the charity a “wish list” of items they have always wanted.  The donation included a bespoke double profiling bed; Snuzpod crib; aromatherapy diffuser and oils; Bluetooth speaker; Dyson hot cold fan with remote control and Heart in their Hands charms.

The presentation was held on a beautiful sunny afternoon and attended by Sir Richard Ibbotson, Chair of Trust; Jacqui Little, Non-Executive Director; Prof Jane Viner; the hospital chaplain and the duty midwives.  Anna, Jenny and their team were bowled over!  “We have wanted a bed like this for 8 years, we cannot thank you enough” said Anna.

We will continue working with Torbay Hospital so they can benefit from our bespoke Grief Training programme written especially for us by another local charity Children and Families in Grief and also with the hospital chaplain to upgrade their memorial garden.
